Itinerary description

Hike from the book Randos Bière en Belgique.

Starting from the parking lot of the Villers Abbaye, you walk along the road to Le Chalet de la Foret brasserie and then up the hill on the little forest path to the right. Aside from a road crossing around km 3.5, most of the route is on forest roads and trails. There is a high chance of mud, especially between km 2 and 2.5, as the trail follows a little creek.

Villiers Abbaye has a visitors center with a little shop where you can buy several types of beer and other stuff, as well as a restaurant. The ruins are well worth a visit.

The route is reachable by public transport. You can take a train from Brussels to Villers-la-Ville station, around a 20 minute walk away from the abbey.
