Itinerary description

CAT:

ENG:
Track to the highest mountain in the United Kingdom, Ben Nevis (1345m), leaving from the Glen Nevis visitors center and arriving at the Youth Hostel. Although it is not reflected in the track, the route can begin in Fort William, which adds about 7 km and 80 minutes more for the round trip. Alternatively, you can take a bus that stops in front of the Youth Hostel, although its timetable is quite limited.

It is an easy path to follow, especially for the steps that cover most of the route. The biggest problem usually is the climatology, since it is almost impossible not to find fog in the upper half of the route. However, near the top there are several cairns that help keep up the path.

At the top there is a small refuge built on a pile of rocks next to the ruins of the old meteorological observatory.

On the way back, a shortcut was followed that starts just after a waterfall, which avoids a small turn by the side of Lochan Meall An T-Suidhe.

Hi Pau. Thanks for all these routes. Great explanations of the tracks and photos.

I will do this route in the Summer and Hadrian's Wall, which I see you have routed also.

I was also surprised to see you have tracks for Puigsacalm and Font Romeu. I'm from the U.K but living in Vic. So I will have a look at walking these two routes soon.

    Thanks again!
