Itinerary description
Our bus brought us to the beginning of the route a little over a kilometre from Benalauria and from Benadalid. The route starts at an altitude of 800m and for the first kilometre we climbed 200m on a concrete road until we arrive at the highest point of 1000m just under an impressive crag. It's a difficult steep climb. From the top the views are spectacular. The remainder of the route is along generally easy pathways, of forest and open agricultural land. We pass some houses and farms before we arrive at Siete Pilas (named after the 7 basins which were used for watering the flocks passing by), and then the Medical Centre and the School. We then walked a somewhat difficult pathway because of the loose rocks, crossing the road A-373 and continuing through open land for about a kilometre until we again arrived at the same road where we took a left turn which brought us to the Station of Cortes. It was a beautiful sunny day which enabled us to have a great hike without problems.
