Itinerary description
This is an easy route starting out in Benaocaz and passing the Salto de Cabrero and ending in Grazelema. Nothing too demanding from this route, except some really muddy areas after rain. You can either follow my route, which takes a few little deviations and a bit of bouldering to make it more interesting, or stay on the main pathway. The last part heading up to Puerto de Boyar is a bit boring on a cement track, and then 2km along a track and next to the road into Grazelema, but the hot chocolate in Rumores Cafe makes it all worthwhile!!! Be warned Grazelema is the wettest town in Andalucia, maybe even in Spain!!! I have never been there when it is not raining!! The waypoints show possible camping areas for extended treks or nice areas for picnics.

this trail is spoilt by the farmer who apparently owns the grazing rights to a section of land about 2 kms from The Puerto de Boyar. His gates are festooned with signs warning of wild cattle, video surveillance and banned dogs. this should not be possible in Natural Park and the Environment Department should take steps to stop this irresponsible action by the lease. the trail is well advertised at the Boyar start but no mention of the leasee’s determination to stop walkers crossing his section
