GR141 - Benaojan station to Jimera station

Itinerary description
NOTE this was recorded before the floods which washed away the bridge over the Guadiaro river at the beginning. Now (2023) you need to follow the detour signs from the station and cross the river on some large stepping stones. Sorry, no waypoints - but this is an easy, well-signposted walk.

Thank you! a lovely route, easy to follow. The bridge across the river is still not repaired
Hi Karen, thank you for the comments. I'm not sure when (if...) the small bridge will be repaired, maybe never?? The alternative to the stepping stones for hikers as well as car drivers is to cross on the main road bridge on the Ronda road. If the river was too high to cross on the stepping stones then I would recommend walking from Estación Benaojan back up to the main road (MA-7401), turning right, and going across the main road bridge. Once you are on the opposite side of the river there is a small footpath which leads downhill from the road to join the river path below (this river path leads to the Cueva del Gato one way, and Jimera de Libar the other way).
