Itinerary description

Leave the restaurant by the trail on the side up to a path above the ski lift area. Trail continues with a moderate climb for about 2.5 miles. It is very well marked. The views are amazing and worth a stop. You will cross two small streams and may run into cows, but they are used to hikers. End this portion with a steep rocky climb to the pass. You could stop here and picnic and then turn around, or...
At this point you will see a large rock with Lötschenpass 1h and an arrow pointing you to the last 1.5 mile part of the hike across a moonscape of rocks and mountain ponds. There are a few boulder scrambles but, again, the trail
Is very well marked and your reward at the end is the Hutte with fabulous food and drink with a breathtaking view of the surrounding Alps! Way back is reverse of way in but of course downhill!
