Itinerary description
This Hike starts at the Bonaigua Chair Lift car park and heads left up the trail to lake Gerber and continues up to a col by the peak of d'Amitages via melting snow and stunning scenery. The walk down is moderate to difficult with some scrambling. The walk we were following did not always follow a path and there was quite a lot of rock hopping. There is a refuge to refill water supplies. Towards the end of the hike there is a very steep 1 km climb with a 250m vertical gain. I would do this hike in reverse to avoid the steep climb at the end.
