Borjomi - TV towers - Petre Fortress - Borjomi

The first part of the trail is easy and can be accessible by everyone. It’s better to hike this route in mid spring or summer, because there will be a lot of trees which will make a shadow, and the road will be dry. In autumn it may becomes too dirty.
On your way to the TV towers you will see the markers, which will helps you, but in the top of the mountain will be a cross, one road with the markers leads to the Tori village (about 4h hike by the forest), another one leads to the towers without the markers.

Towers is nice place to have a picnic or even set a tent, there a plenty of room. I did not saw any worker there.

On the way to the towers you can see two peaks on different sides of petres-tsikhe mountain (that’s the name is mountain which towers on it).
On the north side you can see Lomismta (2198m) - this is mountain of Meskhetian ridge, which you can hike on the summer from Likani village (it’s takes 2 days to get on the top and get back)
On the south side you can see Sakvelosmta(2810m) the second’s largest peak of the Trialeti ridge. You can hike it in summer too in one or two days from Bakuriani. In winter and spring them both covered by deep snow.


The second part of the trail is much more adventure, and recommend only for the people who already have hiking experience and will not scary to find the route by your self. I really recommend to have a trekking poles on this part of the road, because sometimes decent will be steep, and it will help you a lot to save the balance.
The route itself follows to the ridge, without any serpentines. There a small trail made by animals (cows I guess), but it is not a continuous. Sometimes it’s hides, and appears again after 30-40 meters. So sometimes you will need to find the path between the trails. Do not leave the top of the ridge, because it may be hard to get back. The route is almost the straight line. The GPS track should help you.

I’m not sure how good is this road in summer, when there a lot of plants, you can let me know in the comments.

Also sometimes you will cross old cars serpentine. I don’t know yet where it goes on. Maybe it’s Lila the same path, but a bit longer.

Once you will get to the edge of the cliff with beautiful view to the Romanovs summer palace, and also view to the Likani village. On the end of the trail you will see the castle, which have multiple stages and that’s great place for picnic. Be really careful when you will be nearby ti the castle, because the ridge becomes rocky, there will be no trees to grab on, and there steep cliffs on the both side. DON’T HIKE THIS ON THE DARK.
