Bosque encantado de Aldán // Enchanted forest of Aldán

En la parroquia de Aldán, pueblo de San Cibrán, se haya un sorprendente bosque encantado, propiedad de los Condes de Canalejas. Se trata del característico bosque atlántico, con helechos, eucaliptos y castaños. En el WPT que he marcado como Parking, hay una zona en el arcén de la carretera en el que se pueden aparcar varios vehículos

El bosque era utilizado en el siglo XX por los Condes como lugar de entretenimiento y caza y, de esa época, queda el castillo de O Frendoal. Nunca se terminó y sólo queda la fachada

Cerca del castillo está un precioso arco, llamado da Condesa o da Moura. Es parte de un acueducto, no se sabe si romano o medieval

Para hacer más mágico el lugar, si cabe, tenemos varios molinos en ruinas. Funcionaban gracias al arroyo Orxas. Están cubiertos de vegetación y musgo, dándoles aspecto de misterio

El bosque está bastante descuidado, con ramas, arbustos, árboles caídos. Entre los árboles destaca un enorme eucalipto, de tronco inmenso y que, aparentemente, está bastante próximo a morir ya que sólo algunas ramas muy altas tienen hojas

No hay una senda única sino que aparecen varios caminos por un lado y por otro. Esto no dificulta la orientación sino que hace más entretenido el lugar

En resumen, breve paseo por un bosque que podría ser muchísimo más bonito si se cuidara más. Se podría sacar mucho más partido del sorprendente castillo y arco que se encuentra en su interior si el bosque y los senderos estuvieran más limpios. Muy adecuado para niños

In the parish of Aldán, in the village of San Cibrán, there is a surprising enchanted forest, property of the Counts of Canalejas. The forest was used in the 20th century by the Counts as a place for entertainment and hunting and, from that time, the castle of O Frendoal remains. It was never finished and only the facade remains

Near the castle is a beautiful arch, called da Condesa or da Moura. It is part of an aqueduct, it is not known if it is Roman or medieval

To make the place more magical, if possible, we have several mills in ruins. They worked thanks to the Orxas river. They are covered with vegetation and moss, giving them a mysterious appearance

The forest is quite abandoned, with branches, bushes and fallen trees. Among the trees stands out an enormous eucalyptus, with an immense trunk and that, apparently, is quite close to dying since only some very high branches have leaves

There is no single path but several trails appear on one side and on the other. This does not hinder the orientation but makes the place more entertaining

In short, a brief walk through a forest that could be much more beautiful if more attention were paid to it. Much more could be made of the amazing castle and arch within if the forest and trails were cleaner. Very suitable for children
