Boulinette - Oppedette Gorge Loop

Beautiful but challenging loop to the bottom of the gorge and back
Warning: After Point Q down into the gorge is more difficult and a bit dangerous.
Not suited for children.
It may be impossible to do this loop after rain.

Parking in the tiny village of Boulinette. To find that place follow Abbaye de Valsaintes.

From the village go right down a gravel road (GR 6).
At B the GR 6 goes left and we go straight ahead on the blue marked trail.
Cross a small iron bridge at C, Calavon.

Next follow a yellow marked trail.
At F go left downhill.
At G go straight ahead
At H Follow the yellow marker
At I turn left.
At J turn left.

At H, La Grange des Davids, the asphalt road, turn left.
After about 50M go straight ahead as the road turns left.
This trail crosses the asphalt road 3 times.

After that follow the road down to the bridge.
Over the bridge, right, follow the sign to Oppedette.
Follow the sigh to the gorges.
Take a look at the viewpoints.
At point Q there is a yellow marked and signed route down.
It is a more dangerous route with some handrails. The warning signs are real.
A route more suited for mountain goats.
Down in the (dry) riverbed turn left.
Watch for the sigh on the right (15Min) leading uphill to a cave.

At S go right, uphill on a steep climb with some handrails.
To top off the climb there is a ladder at the end.
Follow the sign Oppette (North West).
This was for me the scary part as I am a bit afraid of heights.
This trail goes slowly to the bottom of the gorge.

At the bottom turn left along the (dry) river in the direction of the road you came from.

At the Bridge (K) go north along the road.
Follow this road for 15 min.
Just before the road turns right (at a bridge) go straight ahead.
The path turns to the right but gradually goes left (North) again in the direction of the car.

Follow the GR6 Valsaintes to the car. A last steep climb to the village.
