Itinerary description
Brech de Roland-Pic de Tents-pic de la Pahule--Lac Especiers--Lac Lapazosa
A hike that was done over two days, stating at the col de tents..taking the main footpath towards Port de boucharo..signposted for the refuge , taking left track ..follows the valley quite flat untill you reach the rocks and water fall..snow cover was starting here so arefull over the rocks to find best path..a little steep ans small snow fields start here and you arrive at the Breche de Roland refuge..Snow cover complete here but a good path had been made to follow..so the climb up is slow going ..reaching the false ridge before the final climb to the Breche..small rocks to finish..once on the Spanish side less snow is found,
here we took rest before returning in same direction...
back at the car park of Col de Tents , we continued south up on the ridge reaching the Pic de Tents and further along a good track finish at Pic de la Pahule...with view down the valley of Gavarnie and the water fall..return to parking...
we slept over night and in morning we continued our walk following the trail around Lac de Especiers ..lovely morning sun rise ..trail is small and steep other side of the lac to reach the col , we then took a small climb to view the valley down to Gavarnie..headind back down and around lac Lapazoza..trail follows under the pylons and joins the valley..here we took rest and lunch before returning up the valley towards Port buchero..return to parking on the small path.
