Itinerary description
The longest ridge trail in the Alps. We took the 8:36 early bird Brienz Rothorn Bahn (28 Francs) from the station in Brienz after leaving our car at the station parking (5 Francs per day). After leaving the vapour train at the top station, we started hiking. The trail is very well maintained and easy to follow. There are some ridges which are very exposed (so not compatible with whom is afraid of heights) but not very technical (so no much of climbing). The views are amazing over the Brienz lake, Interlaken and the Thun lake. No shadows nor shelter from the rain, so plan accordingly. In a hot summer day we used about 5 litres of water (there is a place to refill drinkwater more or less halfway, on the right about 100m down the trail, in a cow watering fountain).
The last part from Harder Kulm down can easily be run.

I would also recommend correct shoes (with high ankle fixture), my lower model was not suitable. Maybe even bring walkingpoles?
