Itinerary description
A nice day hike in Borgarfjörður eystr. From the Campsite to the ending point approx. 13,5km. From the ending point you still need to walk back to the campsite (paved road). The entire trip took me about 3,5 hours walking time (+ breaks). Can be quite wet and muddy. The ascend after the emergency hut is very steep and exhausting. At the end a detour to the harbour Hafnarholmi is worthwhile to see puffins. At the beginning (Holahorn) we missed the official way a bit, therefore the GPS-track leads a bit cross-country.
