Itinerary description
Very difficult track. Steep descent (loose slate scree) and ascent (gravel and shale) in and out of the canyon - 400m elevation change. From the slot canyon down the creek there is about a 500m length to negotiate large (5m+ diameter) smooth limestone boulders - you need to pick your own course through these. (We ended up detouring a little into the canyon edge to avoid the boulders). Definitely do not do this alone.
Given that, is a great experience for those fit and with good walking skills. Beautiful to see the huge canyon from the bottom and unique landform with the boulders.
