Itinerary description
Bunyola (Ma-11 Can Penasso bus stop) - Coll de Son Nasi (1.4 km) - Puig de Sa Gubia (1.7 km) - Bunyola bus & train stop (8.4 km)
Very nice walk with magnificent 360 degrees panoramic views from the viewing platform at the peak Puig de Sa Gubia (Puig de s’Alquería) (608 m).
The way down from the peak is on private property (S'Alquería d'Avall estate) but walking is allowed Sunday to Friday until 17:00 hours (CLOSED ON SATURDAYS).
The path is not signposted, but the path is not difficult to follow.
The path starts at the Can Penasso bus stop from Palma or Soller at the Ma-11 main road between Palma and Soller. The path starts on paved road, but quickly becomes narrow and quite steep until a ladder helps crossing a stone wall at the pass Coll de son Nasi (491 m). At the top Puig de Sa Gubia (608 m) there is a nice viewing platform (Mirador de Leandro Ximenis) with fantastic views of the bay of Palma, Galatzó, Na Fátima, Moleta de Pastoritx, Sierra de Alfàbia, Massanella, the Commune of Bunyola, etc. Very nice views also during the descent with views of the Bunyola area, passing between old olive trees, crop terraces, cisterns, old coal paths and with views of Puig de Son Poc (493 m) and Puig de Son Nasi (575 m).
The last 5.4 km is on road, first 3.5 km very nice dirt road and then 1.9 km paved road.
Bunyola is a village and municipality located in the spurs of the Serra de Tramuntana, covering an area of 84.6 km2 and with a population of approximately 6,600 inhabitants. The old railway Ferrocarril de Sóller passes through it on the way to/from Palma.
Bunyola is located in the Comarca of Serra de Tramuntana awarded World Heritage Status by UNESCO as an area of great physical and cultural significance.
Traditionally Bunyola has acted as a link between Palma and the Tramuntana mountains. Age-old roads all converge here from Sóller, Orient, Valldemossa and Palma. The mountains have been used as meadowlands for royal hunts and by suppliers of wood, charcoal, stone and ice.
Public transportation:
From Palma or Soller bus 204 to the Can Penasso bus stop.
From Bunyola bus 205 to Palma.

Ruta rápida hasta mirador de Sa Gubia. La vuelta enlaza con el camino tradicional por un camino de carros. Muchas gracias Ottar
