Trail from Burgau to Lagos passing through:
- Igreja Da Nossa Senhora Da Luz (4.6 km)
- Praia da Luz (5.0 km)
- Praia Do Canavial (9.8 km)
- Praia do Barranco do Martinho (10.5 km)
- Mirador Ponta Piedade (10.9 km)
- Praia Dona Ana (12.6 km)
Today you will take the public bus to the start of the hike in Burgau.
Afterwards, you will hike back to Lagos to your hotel. Optionally, you
can also shorten your tour, see under options.
This stage is less lonely than yesterday's and leads you further
along the coast, which here, in addition to black rocks, has
particularly reddish and yellowish sandstone formations and allows
again and again enchanting views of the sea. You start in the
vacation and surfer's paradise Burgau and walk along beautiful
paths along the cliff to Luz. After visiting the church and a beach
café in Luz, you climb the small peak Atalaia and then hike on a
largely flat good high trail to Praia do Mos on the outskirts of Lagos.
To Ponta da Piedade you walk a bit through the settlement and
soon meet a newly built panoramic path made of wooden planks,
which leads to numerous viewpoints and finally to the lighthouse.
Here you now have gigantic deep views of the wildly jagged yellow
rocks of Ponta da Piedade. A bit along the road or on sandy paths
you continue to Praia de Dona Ana and from there along the cliff to
the next bays. Finally, along the boulevard you will reach the student
beach and the port, where the small fortress is worth a visit.
Through the city gate you enter the old town of Lagos and stroll
through the center back to your hotel. The route is less demanding and has fewer ascents and descents than the previous day's stage; it's mostly gentle along cliff paths. An idyllic hike through wonderful coastal terrain.
