Itinerary description

A reasonably hard walk but fairly easy to follow. The walk from the village up to the ridge and the ridge walk are well marked with yellow/white and there is a walk board in the village just up from the Car Park. To do the summit of Penya Roja you ignore the yellow/white cross to your right at the col and skirt round until you see two metal footholds and a rope which is the way up, then you bear up right following some red dots and cairns. Once you cross over into the second gully don't be tempted to turn up left where there are some old red dots and cairns which soon run out - we lost alot of time on this wild goose chase - but carry on on a short stretch of reasonably well defined track which then ascends a rock staircase, with some small red dots, until you reach some yellow/white markers. Turn left to go to the main summit of Penya Roja. Once you have been to the summit you come back to this point, then follow the yellow/white initially down and then up to the second summit.
