Itinerary description

A short circular walk from Cabo Blanco in the south of Tenerife to the summit of the Lomo de La Fuente ridge and the imposing peak of Roque Igara overlooking the village. Although this is a short walk, the full route may not suit everyone as there is some minor scrambling to the summit of Roque Igara with short periods of exposure leading to a risk of vertigo, care needs to be taken here. The scramble to the summit can be omitted however making this an easy walk. There are superb views on the walk in all directions, along the coast from Montaña Guaza and Los Cristianos to Montaña Roja. Inland, there are excellent views to Roque del Conde and also the central high mountains of the Las Cañadas National Park.

Update: 20/01/2015 The return track to Cabo Blanco at the bottom of the descent has been blocked by a fence at a goat farm. I managed to scramble down into the barranco to the right of the goat farm and climb back up to the track on the far side, this is a little difficult however. Alternatively, turn right instead of left when descending from the summit of Roque Igara and retrace your steps to Cabo Blanco.

We did the walk on a windy day. It was not a good idea!
Around “Lomo de La Fuente” is now dangerous, so we took a shortcut directly to the “Roque Igara”. If you have no problem with vertigo going round the Roque Igara shows beautiful views of the coastline.
Coming dawn we were stopped by a fence (put there by a farmer?) and loose dogs. So we had to clime around.

Hi, thanks for the update, I have made a note about the fence in the comments for this walk.
