Cabo de Gata - Nijar, El Faro, y más, Almeria

Esta es la ruta de senderismo numero 200 que he colgado en Wikiloc.
El segundo día de nuestro viaje de senderismo en Cabo de Gata, decidimos hacer la ruta desde El Faro. Qué sorpresa llegar y encontrar una señal de la Junta de Andalucia, diciendo Parque Natural, Cabo de Gata-Nijar, Peligro, Prohibido el paso, Riesgo de caídas justo donde empieza la ruta. Vimos a mucha gente pasar y nosotros también decidimos pasar y hacer las rutas con cuidado. Aparte de unas zona donde hay que andar con cuidado y tomar las precauciones nomales de senderismo, las rutas que hemos hecho no se pueden clasificar como peligrosas. ¡Pregunto! ¿Esta señal puede perjudicar al senderista en el caso de tener que hacer una reclamación de su seguro privado? Bueno, cada uno tiene que decidir si tomar el riesgo o no. La ruta que hicimos transcurría parte por una carretera en muy mal estado (para coches) y el resto por senderos bastante definidos pero no señalados. Llegamos a El Collado de la Vela Blanca, y a la vuelta visitamos las calas Raja, Toba y Arena, y el mirador Punta Baja. Aunque lo hicimos en el mes de marzo, hacía mucho calor y decidimos no continuar a la cumbre de la Vela Blanca. Las vistas de los acantilados y las calas son espectaculares. Y la "Vela Blanca" se ve incrustada en el acantilado .... espectacular foto. A la vuelta un sendero termina en la pared de un complejo turístico y sale del otro lado del recinto. Me contaron que está así desde hace muchos años. Decidimos pasar por delante sobre el acantilado que fue la parte más peligrosa de la ruta ..... en realidad no se debe tratar de seguir esta parte de al ruta. No entiendo como el Ayuntamiento de Nijar pueden ignorar esta situación durante estos años cuando hubiera sido fácil hacer una ruta alternativa para juntar las dos partes del sendero y eliminar el peligro. Parece que quedan Ayuntamientos que ignoran o quieren ignorar el beneficio que el deporte de senderismo trae a los municipios. (Ejemplo, nosotros hicimos el viaje desde Benalmádena a Cabo de Gata precisamente para hacer tres días de senderismo, pernoctamos en un hotel, comimos en los restaurantes, y hicimos la compra el último día. Hay miles como nosotros.) Nos ha encantado le ruta, pero cada senderista tiene que decidir si están dispuestos de ignorar lo de la señal a la entrada del sendero. Aparte del hotel que ha sido muy bueno y económico, los precios en los bares y restaurantes están bastante por encima de los de la Costa occidental.

The second day of our hiking visit to Cabo de Gata, we decided to do the Route of the Lighthouse. What a surprise when we find a Junta de Andalucia sign just at he entrance to the routes stating, Natural Park of Cabo de Gata-Nijar, Danger, Pass beyone this point Prohibited, risk of falls. We saw many others start on the route and we also decided to proceed with care. Apart from a few areas where the hiker has to be careful and take the usual precautions, the route that we walked could not be classified as dangerous. A Question! Could this sigh prejudice the hiker en a claim based on his own private insurance? Well, each one has to decide to take the risk or not. The route we hiked is partly on a country road in a bad state of repair (for cars) and the remainder along obvious pathways but with no signposting. We walked as far as the Hill of the White Sail (Vela Blanca) and on the way back we visited the Bays of Raja, Toba ad Arena (Sand) as well as the viewing point of Punta Baja (Low Point or place). Although we were doing this walk in the month of March, it was very hot and we decided not to continue to the peak of Vela Blanca. The views of the cliffs and the bays are spectacular. And the "White Sail" encrusted in the black cliff ..... makes a spectacular photo. On the way back one of the routes is truncated by the wall of a tourist complex and it begins again at the other side of the enclosure. I was later told that this is the way it has been for years. We decided to make our way along the cliff in front of the complex, which turned out to be the most dangerous part of our route. In fact, we do not recommend that you should walk this part of our route. We do not understand how the Local Government of Nijar could chose to ignore this problem when it would have been easy to retrace the route around the complex and eliminate the danger. It appears that some Local Governments are unaware of the value of the sport of Hiking to the municipality. (An example: we went to Cabo de Gata from Benalmadena specifically to hike for three days, we stayed in a local hotel, we spent money in bars and restaurants and on the last day we did our shopping before leaving. There are thousands like us.) We loved the route, but every hiker mus decide if they are prepared to ignore the sign at the beginning of the route. Apart from the hotel which was very well run and economic, we found the prices in the bars and restaurants far higher than the Western Costa del Sol.
