Itinerary description
CABOPINO CIRCUIT
Category: Country Walk
Meeting Place: The sandy car park at Cabopino off the N340/A7
Distance: 9.75 km
Grading: Medium
Itinerary:
Starting in the sandy Cabopino car park, the route follows the boardwalks next to the beach and sand dunes. Then, for about 2 km, the trail passes through pleasant streets, crossing the A7 and up to the E15. It crosses over the E15 into unspoilt countryside, where there are irises in springtime. There are some gradients and some rough ground. After a group rest on the crest of a hill overlooking the sea, the route will work its way back down to the coast past the picturesque lakes of a golf course. Crossing the A7 again, using a narrow foot bridge, the path arrives at the beach and the walk continues a short distance on the sand to the Puerto Cabopino marina. The finish is back on the beach near the car park.
Dogs: unfortunately this walk is not suitable for dogs as there is a narrow foot bridge over a very busy road as well as a significant distance where they would have to be on the lead.
Directions to the Meeting Place
From Marbella
Take the N340/A7 towards Fuengirola. Take the Cabopino Exit at KM194. (There is a very large sign indicating Cabopino. Please note that it is easy to take a turn too early). At the roundabout take the first exit. After 100m turn right into the sandy car park. Park near the entrance. This is the meeting place.
From Fuengirola

It was a nice alternative to our walks at the beach.
Many thanks Peter
I think some of trail has disappeared, to get to the picnic stop is a bit of a scramble.
