Itinerary description
Brought forward ok breakfast from 8 to 7.30am.
TRACK
Cross bridge and start Camino by turning on 1st left (to taxi rank) and then to your right onto Rúa Real. Just follow the signs from then onwards.
Café-Bar Esperon with wc and stamp, O Cruceiro, at around 5km, detour to the left 20mts after crossing road.
Museo Labrego at 7.5km is first stop with vending machine for coffee and food, with wc and stamp.
Bar Los Camioneros around 9km.
Autoservicio San Miguel at 12.7km with food/drink and supermarket, wc and stamp.
Coming down onto Pádron and just before bridge, go under tunnel to go to other side of road.Cross the bridge and follow arrows.
Sunday market runs until 3pm.
Go all the way through market (which is quite long) until you find the Igrexa de Santiago de Pádron.
Have a bite at Don Pepe Bar (lots of hugs and kisses, good sandwiches).
Going to Rosalia Hotel, just follow gps once at Don Pepe. When approaching garden, use crossing on the right side of road.
If staying in Lestrobe you can either walk or catch a taxi from Pádron (around 1.5km).
A Casa Antiga do Monte is very nice with outdoor pool and good dinner served at 8pm.
HIGHLIGHTS
Igrexa de Santiago de Pádron - Originally built prior to X. According to legend, the boat bearing Santiago's body was moored to the (original stone) Pedrón on arrival. Throw a coin for a wish and good luck.
Pimiento de Pádron - this type of pepper is small and broad in shape, conical and slightly rough or grooved, consumed green and fried in olive oil on very soft fire. Intense flavor, can be very or slightly spicy.
