Itinerary description

This route approximates to the walk from the Rother walking guide entitled "At the upper rim of the Bandama Crater". Unable to find parking at the designated start, we parked opposite the "Mirador del vino: La Caldera", a cafe with stunning views for a before and/or after drink, and started the walk from way mark 2.

There's not a lot to be said about the route as there is no alternative to staying on the obvious path! For an easy walk it looks a bit intimidating where you leave the road, but the path is well maintained and generally undulating, and is easier than it initially appears.

Although the ridge is narrow, there is nowhere where a fall would incur anything other than superficial grazes, and should be manageable by all but those who suffer the severest virtigo.

This walk pairs nicely with a visit to the Botanical Gardens about 10 mins drive away (free entry at time of writing - Jan 2019) to complete a good day out.
