Caminando por el bosque del monte Hijedo // Walking the forest around Mount Hijedo

<<< English follows >>> Tranquila ruta por el bosque que rodea el monte Hijedo, en Burgos. Según te acercas con el coche parece que no puede haber ninguna ruta interesante en los alrededores pero cuando entras en el bosque caminando, todo cambia. Este es un camino maravilloso por un bosque sombrío perfecto de hayas, fresnos, acebos, tejos, helechos, musgo, etc. Todo es verde y todo es tranquilidad

El camino comienza en un aparcamiento que tiene una docena de plazas, al sol. La primera parte de la ruta es al sol pero se hace rápida. El suelo es suave, de tierra y hojas caídas; una delicia para los pies

Hay ejemplares de tejos preciosos pero he marcado uno por su especial belleza. Cuidado porque sus hojas son venenosas

La zona en la que está el abrevadero es al sol. Es una corta subida que enseguida nos devuelve al bosque

En resumen, una ruta preciosa y que merece la pena.

<<< English >>> Quiet route through the forest surrounding Mount Hijedo, in Burgos. As you approach the place with the car it seems that there cannot be any interesting route in the surroundings but when you enter the forest walking, everything changes. This is a wonderful path through a perfect shady forest of beech, ash, holly, yew, fern, moss, etc. Everything is green and everything is quiet

The path begins in a parking lot with a dozen spaces, in the sun. The first part of the route is in the sun, but it's quick. The ground is soft, with earth and fallen leaves; a delight for the feet

There are some beautiful yews but I have marked one for its special beauty. Be careful because their leaves are poisonous

The area where the trough is located is in the sun. It's a short climb that takes us right back to the forest

In short, a beautiful and worthwhile route.
