CAMIÑO 2 HEADLIGHTS
Costa da Morte Galicia,
Day 16 September 2017
Stage 5 Arou - Camariñas.
Possibly the best of the Camiño dos Faros stages. The path leaves Arou in the direction of Lobeiras Beach and the port of Santa Mariña. Another gem of the Camiño.
We overcome the ascent to Monte Branco, the largest rampant dune of Costa da Morte. Originally formed by the cluster of sand driven by the strong wind. From here we contemplate the Playa de los Trece and the Punta de Boí (shipwrecks area).
After crossing the beach we reach the English Cemetery. From there, we cross the beaches of Riera to reach another mythical point of Camiño dos Faros, the Lighthouse of Cabo Vilán or Villano.
It is worth spending some time to visit his museum. Between trails and roads we will reach Camariñas by a short section of asphalt road. Undoubtedly this stage and all its corners will be recorded in our retinas.
SOURCES: Bring water from the beginning of the stage.
CARE: Different sections of Bowling and rocks. When climbing the dune of Monte Blanco, do not leave the path, there are plant species in extinction (Caramiñas, the pearl of the dunes)
BAR, RTE, SHOPS: Arou, Faro Vilán (Monday to Sunday: 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.) and Camariñas.
MUSEUM: Faro Cabo Vilán.
