Day 11! Today we were walking from Belorado till Atapuerca (31.94 km!! Almost 32 km - that a record so far). And I honestly think that it’s one of the most beautiful days as in beautiful landscapes.
We started quite early around 8 (first wanted to have a fast breakfast and coffee). But unfortunately everything was closed! Ying had her breakfast in Alburgue. For Anna I checked when would be a bus to Villafranca, so from there she was walking alone.
So we started walking with Nastya and Ying caught up with us a bit later. And what can I say, is that there was not even single place opened on the way. Only in Villafranca, where we successfully had our breakfast.
Originally my plan was only to walk around 25 km.. But we ended up doing all 32! Because nothing is opened. It was only one place in Atapuerca opened. Good that we booked it in the advance. Because there were a lot of people who came before us… (not everyone were walking 32 km like us, but used bus), or few left really early. So few persons from South Korea ended up without beds!! I felt so sorry for them! Because we know them for few days, and we just booked and came a bit earlier. So I started talking to the owner, asking what can we do? They can’t stay outside.. So eventually he said, that he will take them by car to another village. I insisted that he calls and confirms about the place for them. So they left and were really happy! The village is on Camino but much closer to Burgos than we are now.
Although it was cloudy day and even drizzling time to time.. I really loved our Camino! It’s spectacular! From Villafranca needed to go up the hill. But what a forest you are walking through! Enchanted!!! Trees covered in moss.. Oak trees, pine trees, Christmas trees…. So many flowers and berries and mushrooms…
3 of us were so tired, that we hardly can move our limbs! I thought that at the end I’ll fall and just crawl to the Alburgue! But we were so happy to reach it and to know that Anna prepared for us Spaghetti and Pesto!
