Day 23 of our Camino de Santiago. Ready we were walking from Astorga to Foncebadon (26.54).
In the morning we had a great breakfast in cafe near albergue that we were staying (it was the cheapest albergue so far! Only 7 € per bed. But inside was so cold.. I asked yesterday for the blanket. And the guy was telling me that it is 22 degrees inside. I already had similar experience before.. Later was sick. So didn’t want to get sick again. So I again and again was asking for a blanket (my sleeping bag is not that warm). And finally guy said that he will give me it at 9 pm. Anyways, other lady from reception came and gave it to me! Was very kind of her. I usually don’t complain about albergue or anything.. but I hope that they would raise more price, but be more attentive to the pilgrims)..
Today One of the most difficult days in our Camino so far. It was raining entire day (with just maybe half an hour with no rain). And quite cold. We were also going up (first it was gradual.. so it was very easy. But after Rabanal del Camino I’m road goes up quite steep.. Now we are in 1455 meters above sea level (it is higher, than when we were crossing Perinees). But the road was very beautiful! Very picturesque! I think I would take more pictures, if not rain.
Tonight we decided to stay in the private room, in really good conditions (Hostal El Trasgu). I think it’s one of the best places we been so far. So warm and clean and nice. Had very tasty dinner (lentils soup, ginger tea and something with cheese). Was delicious! So happy that we chose this place instead of going to albergue… Nastya and I both got really cold. Our shoes got soaking wet and cold. But now we are feeling so much better being I’m like at home!
