Day 28 of our Camino de Santiago. Today we were walking from Triacastela to Sarria (16.72 km). Today is the shortest walk that we had in all our Camino!
I would say, that I really enjoyed staying in our previous albergue Xacobeo - it is clean, comfortable and not expensive! We were staying in the room of 4 bunk beds and it was only 6 of us. We met few new people: a boy from USA, called Alex; a girl from Poland called Gabriela and an olderly lady from Germany, called Ursula.
Ursula is 82 years old! And she had done so many caminos, that she doesn’t even know, what number is it now!! She did all the most famous caminos: Portuguese, Camino del Norte, British, Camino del Invierno, Camino de La Plata, primitivo… even had done camino starting from her hometown (that is 2500 km)!!! Every time she comes to Santiago de Campostella, she buys a ribbon. and her walking sticks are all covered in ribbons. If you had done Camino before, you might met her! And it’s in her 82 years!!! Who would complain now??? And tell that it’s impossible? Nothing is impossible! That’s so inspiring and amazing! And honestly, I would never give her 82!! I wish I would look like that in my 82! And be so active!
We had a breakfast together. We’re talking about different topics. Was very interesting! And she left earlier. She said, that we will catch up with her. But we couldn’t!! I felt that we are moving like turtles.. and she was moving like a gazelle.. And she carries only a backpack of 4.5 kg (that comes with experience)! You really don’t need so much!
Anyways, it was a lovely day! Sunny even partly. When we left all the fields were covered in frost… Magical! Later we saw a beautiful landscape with a white cloud beneath us.. And later we entered this cloud. Was a bit cold.. But the way was stunning today!
For tonight we decided to stay in the private room. Very nice place. So we are truly happy! After bedbugs bit me I have an allergy.. so we needed to go to buy some cream..
