Day 29 of Camino de Santiago. We were walking today from Sarria to Portomarin (24.94 km). Although it says around 22 km, I think it depends where you start. We were at the beginning of Sarria. Sarria is famous for people who are willing to do Camino, but don’t have much time. And to go to Santiago de Campostella is only a bit more than 100 km. And I would tell, that we felt immediately how many pilgrims are walking this way. So we decided to make a reservations for today (some albergues were already fully booked) and for tomorrow. A lot of new people!!! That brings us to one topic, that we discussed with Ursula. Need to be extremely careful! In O Cebreiro in the same day the we were staying there, but in Albergue municipal there came some thieves (they go 1 or 2 days to get stamps in their credentials) and they still money from one girl. That happens quite often! So be aware!! Now from Sarria there are a lot of people that we see for the first time. Before on the way you kind of know everyone (we are walking the same distance and not so many albergues were there). Now it’s different..
So the day was nice! Most importantly, no rain! But cloudy. But I really enjoyed the scenery today. Don’t know why people find it boring.. I think it was very beautiful! So green and lush! Can’t believe that it is winter! I think, Galicia is so much more green.. because of constant rains here. That makes it so beautiful.
There are lots of tiny villages on the way. But most of them - with albergues and cafes closed. Today is Day of Constitution in Spain, so it’s a holiday.. Lots of places are closed…
During the day we like to listen sometimes music.. So I had my playlist on… and one French pilgrim came and told, that he likes my playlist. Can he put his songs as well.. I said, sure! It was fun to exchange our music! When you walk music gives you some motivation!
