Day 3 of Camino de Santiago. Although it was the shortest day so far (only 21.19 km). It was very difficult because in 3 days we feel really tired… Everyone has a back pain, shoulders pain, legs and knees pain already.. But we didn’t give up, and walked from Zubiri to Pamplona! This was not that picturesque route, as yesterday and the first day. But still nice. On the way there was not even single place to stop for a tea or coffee. Everything was closed… In Pamplona we are planning to have some rest and stay for 2 nights.
Yesterday, on the way to Zubiri we stopped in one place called Bar Dena Ona. And almost everything we asked for: orange juice was bad, tortilla was too old, even water was weird in taste.. In the evening we were advised to go from Zubiri 600 meters (that happened to be 800 meters one side) to the restaurant called Gau Txori. We were so hungry. And this was the only place opened! The service is so slow. I ordered 2 dishes: mix vegetable and chickpeas. First dish was ok. But second - they brought me huge bowl with chickpeas and meat. And I was “oops I don’t eat it”. Waitress was: no problem, we have black beans totally vegetarian. After half-an-hour waiting she brings bowl with black beans and bacon. I’m again asking: what is that? I’m vegetarian… She says: “Oops, the cook mixed all what he had. Don’t know how it happened. Supposed to be vegetarian.. Do you want something else?” - Thanks, no. I’m afraid that even sweets will be with meat.
Today we had also fun time in the restaurant for dinner. Food was great. But when I started to read translation into Russian (somehow it was in menu). I couldn’t stop laughing! Baby carrots they translated as carrots from the baby (what does it mean? Stollen from a baby?) Google translate something translates very funny!
