Itinerary description
Trail from Corcubión to Albergue de Fisterra passing through:
- Praia de Estorde (3.1 km)
- Playa de Sardiñeiro (4.4 km)
- Mirador De Finisterre (6.1 km)
- Praia de Talón (6.3 km)
- Praia da Langosteira (7.2 km)
Today is our day 36 of walking Camino de Santiago. And it’s a third day walking from Santiago de Compostela. In the morning after breakfast we decided to take a bus to Corcubion, from where we walked to Fisterra (11.65 km). And after having really nice lunch and settled down in albergue, we went to the Faro (lighthouse) of Fisterra (6.59 km)… But because we left our backpacks in albergue, it was such a pleasure to walk to the 0 km point, that is considered to be end of the Land.
In albergue we received one more certificate that we had done camino de Fisterra.. And in Muxia we were told that we will receive another certificate.
It was so nice to see the ocean again (after 1.5 months of being on the land)… Funny that just 2 months ago I was sailing nearby, passing Finisterra on the sailboat, when we did crossing of Biscay.. I really missed smell of the sea and seeing and hearing the sound of the waves.. So beautiful!
When we were having breakfast, we were discussing crossing Atlantic Ocean with Betsy (she is also a sailor)… I shared my experience of crossing it just in January. I said, that there are a lot of people who want to come as a crew to join the boat on Atlantic crossing (or going to Canary Islands)… I think, as a captain I wouldn’t take anyone, who doesn’t have any sailing experience.. I’m too strict sometimes. Ocean is not a fun place (I mean, for me it was really fun).. But I have lots of experience! And the sea can be really rough!
