Camino de Santiago. Day 8. From Logroño to Nájera

Camino de Santiago. Day 8. We left Logroño from our Airbnb apartment that we rented for a night around 8.30 am and came to Nájera Albergue Las Peñas around 6 pm. It was very sunny and nice day! A bit too hot even.

It’s our 8th day of Camino de Santiago! Seems to be unbelievable. Because every day is quite difficult to walk. Paining everything (legs, feet and for me especially shoulders and back).. But I think we are doing pretty good!
We took one day off to rest, wash our clothes and just to discover Lagroño.
But let’s start first thing first about our experience in Alburgue with 24 beds. For me it was pretty good. I have really nice earplugs (made from wax, so they take the shape of the ear and cover it very nicely. I really suggest it for everyone!) But Anastasia couldn’t sleep till 3 am. First came some Russian guy, started to swear and checking switches all over the room.. She said, that probably he was drunk. In the morning I noticed that some people were definitely not pilgrims (with suitcases - doubt it).. Alburgue had washing machine and dryer (but we wanted to do it next day).. It also had nice kitchen (for people who wanted to cook for themselves). But we could only stay one night there. We also met some familiar faces! One boy from South Korea, named Yun - very sweet and quite boy. And to tell little bit ahead, we are staying today in albergue with him as well in the same room.
It was nice of Anna to book Airbnb flat for us for the next day. Because I think we really needed to get some rest. And also we wanted to explore the city. There are few places worth visiting. But you can do it very quickly. No need to spend entire day. But it was still nice to rest.
Today was such a nice day!!! So warm! I wished I had my shorts and T-shirt with me! Because temperature was up to 20 degrees! And I even needed to change to more lighter pants, because I was boiling in my hiking pants! I think some people even got suntanned today!
Not very far from Logroño there is a big park, called Grajera Park - very beautiful park. Camino goes through it. Anastasia was just in the morning telling me, that so sad, that we didn’t see any animals, like rabbits. And guess what? There first we saw squirrels and 2 rabbits. So her wish came true quite fast!
Starting from Logroño till Grañon this area is called Rioja, famous for its wine! So all the Camino is full of grapes trees. Very beautiful sceneries and landscapes!!!
In Navarrete we had a small break and also visited a church Santa María de la Asunción, where we put a stamp in our credential books.
It seems, that we met more pilgrims today! Few persons from France, 5 persons from South Korea, one guy from Italy, named Alessandro and in Alburgue we met a guy from Latvia (who is doing his 8th Camino). He told us few interesting stories. Now he is doing Camino from France, from Pau, where in the first day of Camino he broke his front teeth.. with a French bread!!!
