Itinerary description

A walk along the beautiful Asturian coast from trainstation to trainstation. The Camino del Norte in opposite direction.

With the help of the little Feve train you can walk from A to B and still get back home. The train runs only 3 to 4 times a day so check the timetable beforehand. I prefer to take the train first and then walk back, so you don't have to walk on a scedule.

The Camino del Norte goes from east to west, but I walked this stage 'backwards'. The advantages: you'll have the outskirts of Llanes first and save the beautiful parts for last. This hike doesn't have any difficulties and is mostly over gravel paths. Bars/restaurants in Llanes, Andrín and Pendueles.

From the trainstation you'll walk partly through the center of Llanes and then take a straight way through the outskirts. It is not so long though. After that you will climb to the chapel of Cristo del Camino. After that the gravel path goes up and down and gives nice views at the coast and the ocean (beware: it doesn't go up and down in the way the graph shows up here!).

You'll end up at a parking with a view and from there walk down to Andrín along the road (save footpath on the left). After Andrín the path meanders through a forest of mostly eucalyptus trees and ends up at the famous 'Bufones de Arenillas'.

In a couple of kilometres you will pass by the beach (and campsite) of Vidiago. The sandy part is only visible with low tide. A couple of kilometres more and you will arrive in Pendueles.
