Itinerary description
Walk from Saint Jean Pied de Port to Roncesvalles following the Camino Frances Trail. First section to Orisson is the steepest and most difficult part of the climb. Views as you climb the mountain are stunning and continue to dazzle all the way to the top of the mountain. Take care coming down the other side of mountain as loose rocks and tiredness can lead to some nasty falls. Difficult day's walking but well worth the effort. Take care to walk well within your capabilities. Saw several people suffer Camino ending events purely through their eagerness to walk too quickly. Take it easy and enjoy the views as these are perhaps the best views on the whole Camino Frances.
