Camino Lebaniego: Cades - Cicera

Nos han aconsejado que pernoctemos en Cicera, que es un pueblo de montaña muy bonito, para que cojamos frescas la subida y bajada a Lebeña y que apreciemos el increíble paisaje. En retrospectiva, nos parece una buena idea y nos dió la oportunidad de visitar el mirador de Santa Catalina, que está a un par de kilómetros del pueblo y tiene unas vistas impresionantes.
Nos dicen en el hotel que no hay ningún sitio para comprar comida hasta Cicera, a menos de que te desvíes unos kilómetros. Y así es. Tampoco hay donde coger agua hasta Burió.
El camino transcurre mayormente por carretera poco transitada en sábado y en continuo ascenso a diferentes gradientes. Las vistas son impresionantes todo el camino a la que nos vamos adentrando en los Picos de Europa. La carretera sigue el curso del río y ya llegando cerca de Sobrepeña y pasándolo hay accesos al río. Nosotras aprovechamos a refrescarnos y comer en el rio.
El pueblecito de Fuente tiene una iglesia preciosa con césped y un árbol bajo el que nos cobijamos del sol durante un rato para descansar y coger fuerzas para el ascenso a Burió y hasta volver a coger la carretera. Los últimos kilómetros transcurren por sendero rural.
English description:
We were advised to stay overnight in Cicera, a very picturesque mountain town, so we could be fresh in the morning for the steep up and down hills to Lebeña to enjoy the amazing landscape. In hindsight it was the right decision and gave us the opportunity to visit the Mirador de Santa Catalina, an observation deck for the Picos De Europe.
We are told at the hotel that there are no places to buy food on the way. And that was the case. Also no fountains with drinking water until Burió.
This stage is mostly on local roads with little traffic on a Saturday. The walk is mostly uphill with varied gradients. The views got more and more impressive as we got deeper into the Picos de Europa. The road follows the river and as we reached Sobrepeña we found an access to the river so we took the opportunity to refresh ourselves and eat on a quiet spot away from the road.
The little village La Fuente has a pretty church with grass and a tree to shade us from the sun. We stopped to rest and gather the strength for the steep hill to Burió. The last few kilometres are in a rural path through the hills.
