Itinerary description
Priesca - Villaviciosa. Note: In Villaviciosa, approaching Gijon, we decided to take a bus to avoid the industrial area of the city. Once in Gijon, all the hostels and albergues of the city were completely full. Most cheap room for a family was offered to us at 300€, so after a fast tour of the city and an stop in a sport shop (Forum Sport was a nice surprise) we decided to take a second bus to Aviles. For this reason our camino next stop after Villaviciosa start from Aviles. The 50km between the two towns are mostly suburbs of Gijon, not very nice for walking indeed. Anyway Gijon is the only large city on camino between Santander and Santiago: consider a stop if you need to buy something difficult to find in standard northern Spain shops.
