Itinerary description
Campamento Borinquén - Media Quijada; Bosque Seco de Guánica
These trail is a combination of 3 trails that were done in a two day hike.
LOTS of water needed, around 14 water bottles per person. Be advise, it is a very dry, hot and humid place, hence the name Dry Forest of Guánica.
The trails are well marked and maintained. Ask a friend to drop you off at the starting point and to pick you up the next day at the end of the trail, which ends at a mango plantation in Guánica.
Overnight camping is not permitted in the forest but at the edge of the forest there is a place where camping can be done and no permits are required. These area is a very desolate place so a group of 6 people would be a good idea if you are planning on doing camping.
Always take necessary precautions. You should carry: Water, Cell phone, GPS, Knife, sunblock, towel, Hat, good hiking boots (rough terrain, huge thorns, lots of cactus).
