Itinerary description

Park at Aeri de Montserrat (paid parking, 6 euro). You can also reach Aeri by train (via R4).

Avoid the Funicular: the hike starts at the other side of the river, few meters to the Eaglesia de la Deu del Roser. The hike requires, in the first few km, few passages with free hand climbing, but there are no particular difficulties. The route joins the Camí de Les Canals, an easy and large route. But just after few minutes, the hike gets steeper with lots of steps...

But it's worth the effort! The Abadia is few minutes away! Be aware that during weekends there are lots of tourists and it may get crowded. Also, beware of local shops that are quite expensive... Better have the lunch with you. Be sure to visit the Abbey (free entry) and, upon booking locally for free, to visit also the famous Black Mary.

The reutnr journey can be done with the same route, but this GPS tracks goes to another train station, Monistrol de Montserrat.
