Itinerary description
- Ermita Virgen del Carmen (0.2 km)
- El Saltillo (4.4 km)
- Puente colgante El Saltillo (5.6 km)
- Albercon (7.9 km)
- Mirador de la Virgen (9.2 km)
This walk will lead you to El Saltillo, the end of the track where the Rio de los Alchamares comes down from the mountains and after going back for about 2km along the same track
to the beautifully situated suspension bridge Puente colgante El Saltillo.
It is a relatively easy walk, but it might be tricky under wet circumstances. The trickiest parts of the track have been improved and the track is nowhere too narrow not to be able to feel safe.
The steepest parts are the beginning, when you have to go up steep alleys through the village to reach the acequia track and the descent to the suspension bridge, a descent of about 80 altitude metres. This descent was still under construction while we did it and has been transformed into a safe track with steps to make it easier and safer.
The views during the walk are beautiful.
