Itinerary description
Rio cajula walk
Coming back via fabrica del luz
We followed this trail from the village down a very shaley steep path. The path is in a state of disrepair the barriers are broken and it was quite a sharp walk down.
At the foot of the path is the roman Bridge and another steep path zig zagging up you do not go that way.
Cross the road bridge and there is an opening to a track and a mill on the right.
Do not follow the senderismo sign just follow the track along the river.
You will soon come across lots of fruit trees and then start to zig zag the stream via the new wooden bridges.
It is a gradual uphill climb but lots of areas are shaley and walking sticks help a lot.
You pass a few ruins and by about the 5th bridge I would suggest a you are feeling tired return by the same route.
We followed the trail higher and eventually found the pile of stones where the decent starts back to Albaida.
We did not feel this was safe so chose to stick to the rough road. By now it was very misty and rainy. From this point you stay on a very steep up and down track and concrete road about 4 km to fabrica del luz. It is then a further 3 km or so uphill to Albaidas
Its a fantastic route pretty tiring but certainly worth trying. You do need to have good stamina for the distance and heights reached.

This was a fantastic trail, quite hard in parts but the views made it worthwhile. The Cajula valley is spectacular but we saw it on a gloomy day that turned rainy.
