Cantera de los Arenales – Puerto de la Encina - Pico Mijas
This is a linear walk starting from the parking area adjacent to the Arenales quarry.
The walk heads up to Puerto de la Graja. From here take the path on your sharp left and follow it all the way to Puerto de la Encina pass.
From here there is a stony uphill path. This will lead you all the way to Pico Mijas (1151m), or as is more commonly known as La Bola.
The return trip I took a few shortcuts which i threw in but they are optional.
Today the summit was covered in clouds so I couldn’t see anything except a foggy mist. On a good day you have some amazing views from the top.
I would recommend walking poles to be on the safe side, especially if doing the steep shortcuts.

Hi. Would you say this is the easiest path to the pico Mijas?
I would say yes as the elevation is the lowest of other routes, plus you have more shade on this side which might help in the hotter months

Thanks so much. I actually did it today with my 11 and 8 year olds even though we hadn’t planned to. I follow a lot of your routes as I walk in the same area, they are very helpful, thanks!
I'm glad you all enjoyed the walk today
Regards
Tony
