Cantera del Barrio Circuit, Mijas
This walk starts from the mirador above Mijas village. The first stage of the walk goes up to the Ermita del Calvario hermitage. Leaving the hermitage going straight ahead, which is part of the red route signalized which is called ruta de la mission. As we approach the quarry - cantera del barrio we take the path on the right which is the start for Ruta de la Cantera.
This is mainly an upward path until we arrive at an intersection which picks up the signalized route - Ruta Puerto Malaga. To complete the circuit start going down.
On the walk I came across two herds of mountain goats (Cabras Montes) and also a few processionary caterpillar nests. There were some nice views of Mijas village and the surrounding countryside. It was cloudy and hazy so couldn't get many panoramic views.
