Itinerary description
Beautiful walk along a canyon which is used for ... canyoing. This is not the "normal" circular walk which does not follow the canyon but only crosses the corresponding river at the foot and at the top of the canyon. This GPS track follows the path used by the canyonists to walk to their starting point. At the lower end of the canyon, some scrambling is required to cross the river (depending on the water level). The path is good visible as long as it is used by the many canyonists. However further uphill, it's not always clear where the path is. Try to follow the cairns. Eventually you will reach the "normal" path. It's worthwhile to progress till the point where the path crosses the river (near the bergerie - shepherd cottage), before returning along the western part of the normal walk. If you go a little uphill where the path crosses the river, there are a few nice pools. Too small to swim, but large enough to take an icecold bath (brrrr). The return way offers some nice views. The walk is only 6 km long but foresee at least 2h30 hours if you want to enjoy it fully.
