Itinerary description
This should be a loop trail but my phone and watch died in Bubión!! We left Bubión and headed back down towards Pampaneira to do the 700+ steps of El Tubo (+1.5 km uphill) and then followed the road back to Capileira (+3 km downhill).
The trail across the gorge was very overgrown with thistles and thorns. Luckily the day was cooler and we were wearing long trousers and long sleeves otherwise our arms and legs would have been shredded! There had been a lot of rain the day before so parts of the trail were covered in flowing water but easily managed. Hiking boots were essential to stay dry.
It's not a particularly difficult hike just long with plenty of uphill portions (Pampaneira to Bubión was short but all uphill). Adding in El Tubo would jump the rating to Difficult.
