Itinerary description
I recommend the walk in this direction because the descent from the Refugio to the road can be too difficult for anyone a bit timid or with vertigo. Ascending the steep rocky trail is easier for my wife and I than descending.
Waypoints
Start
Well marked path from the main road. Except we missed it and walked 40 minutes more than we needed to :-(
Photo
The trail gets tougher around here. Some steep climbs where your good walking boots repay their price
Photo
Amazing views around here. To the south is Casares, Gibraltar and Jebel Musa in Morocco
Intersection
Civilisation approaches. There is a carpark but no facilities. Its a long gentle walk back to Casares from here. Or a short drive if you left a car here
Photo
A gentle descent through woods and fincas. Look out for the lonely donkey and pause to say hello and pass the time of day
Photo
There are many chances to reflect on the beauty of the Sierra Crestellina and how you was walking up there just an hour ago
Waypoint
Back to the car park. Straight ahead to restaurant Sarmiento, expensive but great quality and you deserve it. Or down into the town where the prices are lower and the food is still good

Moderate
Ruta moderada.
