Itinerary description

Category: Country Walk
Distance: 8.2 km
Grading: Medium to Heavy
How to get to the Start of the walk: From Coin drive towards Monda.
Take the Coin junction after KM 12.
Turn left, go over the bridge and drive along the road, for 2.1Km passing the quarry.
You will see an Albuqueria information board on you left. There are two areas to park on, one on the left and one further down the road on your right. Parking is limited.

Itinerary:
Due to heavy rains the first half hour of this walk is a bit of an obstacle course and would recommend the use of at least one walking pole, especially the last half hour decent.

The walk starts through pleasant woodland along a 1 km track which becomes a single file, stony path, gradually getting steeper towards its end. The path emerges onto a wide track that continues upwards for about 0,5 km. It then becomes easier, passing cork oaks and points where there are beautiful views. A couple of little streams are crossed where, during wet times, some good waterfalls can be seen. Feet won’t get wet, though. The track is then followed for about 3 km, where a rest is taken. The return is by the same route.
