Itinerary description

Where to start... Calenques National Park is stunning. It was incredible at all time. Going there is really worth it. Any the effort you do is rewarded by each calanques you meet through the path.

About the hike.
I mostly follow the GR path (red and white mark). The signs are great, very numerous and clear - it is rare enough to say! I left this main path only to go down to have a swim in several calenques. It extended a bit the path as well as made it tougher as it bring you usually downer than the main one.

It took me nearly 13h for 32km with a departure time at 6:30. Why as much? Not specifically a tough path - except some tricky one that I won’t recommend for people not used to it (“rock climbing” in steppy passage, ladder at some time, slippery small rocks...)
What made it really difficult is the heat of early August. It was 27 at departure and 34 degrees through the day. No much fauna to cover... it was really tough. I stopped a lot, took the time to swim... Also it was difficult to find water. The first place to sell from Cassis is a restaurant in Morigou (only cash for paying).
My 3 liters were nearly over at this time. I had to buy 2 more 1.5L bottle to finish the way.

Conclusion
This path is incredible !!!! Maybe one of my best hiking for the view.
I wouldn’t particularly advise anybody to do this hike in July or August. Actually that’s maybe why I didn’t meet anybody on the GR path - only people using direct path to Calanques.

In any case :
- bring a lot of water and your food because it is very unlikely you find anything. It’s a protected area, no shop.
- hat, cream
- hiking shoes with thick because lots of rocks

In combination to wikiloc, I would recommend you to buy the IGN hiking map of the Calenques area.
