Itinerary description
This walk visits in a roundabout way a natural phenomenon, Els Arcs.
Actually they are two natural arches, most certainly worth a visit.
This walk not only visits this natural beaty but also leads you around the plains of castell de Castells with wonderful views all the time, of the Serella mountain range close by but also of the mountain range to the south east, closer to the coast.
The area you walk in here breathes the calm and the quiet one would expect of a place like this, slightly more than an hour's drive from the coast. No villages to be seen here.
The walk is easy and follows broad tracks for the greatest part on a level between 720 and 850 metres. It is only the very last part of the stretch towards the Arcs that you will have to watch your steps.
The first time we veered away from the main track was to go to the cave, Aljub del Xarquet, number 3 on the info panel you will see at the beginning of the walk, but we didn't see it. We enjoyed the part along the olive trees though!
