Itinerary description

This walk starts from Alhaurin Golf Hotel / La Ventilla Restaurant as there is ample parking here. (The BP petrol station is hard to park as it's a very popular place to eat).

The Castillo de la Mota was built as a water tower, disguised as an ancient castle to fit in with the region’s surroundings.

It was constructed to provide irrigation water for a golf course that never happened.

The Eldorado TV series used this location for the hideaway of their kidnap plot.

After the walk it is worth your while having a breakfast at the BP petrol station (Cafeteria La Ventilla). Or your can have a nice basic lunch at Venta Los Morenos.
Or if you want something more up market, La Ventilla Restaurant, at the start of the walk.

I have followed this trail  verified  View more

A short trail and mostly paved, but the "castle" and it's history are well worth the small effort. Super interesting.
