Itinerary description
The green horse circuit from the parking in Benimaurell, with amazing almond blossoms. This is the shorter version, it can be made longer but it is not recommended for those who are afraid of heights.
This is an easy loop that even kids and families can do, as long as you have good shoes and are used to walking. The top is rocky in places.
Take to the right at the first trail marker after walking through the village, instead of going straight up the steep asfalt path. The views are remarkable from the top and you want to be facing them, not walking with your back towards them. It is possible to see Ibiza on clear days.
This is the place where the Moors and Christians had their last battle, before the Moors were expelled from Spain in 1609 and many villages and farms in the Valencia region were abandoned. The Green Horse is the vision a military leader recieved from an old woman, who told him that if they gathered everyone on the mountain, the prophet would save them on its wings.
The paths have recently been cleared and renovated.
