Santuari dels Àngels, The sanctuary of the Angels, is at an altitude of 484 metres, in the Massís de Gavarres, in the municipality of Sant Martí Vell. In 1409, the bishop Descatllar agreed to the construction of the hermitage. From these heights you get fantastic panoramic views of Girona, of Baix Empordà, of the islands of Medes, of the Pyrenees, Montseny and the Guilleries.
